Arcam, a Swedish machining manufacturer producing 3D printers specialized for metal products assigned Swedish-based Gestalt architects the renovation and expansion of their Gothenburg office. Gestalt came up with a design concept that relates to Arcam’s manufacturing process – a machine that transforms metal powder to advanced products used in the flight industry. This transit from one phase to another is represented in a number of design elements; colours that fade into another and patterns that occur in different scales and contexts as can be seen in the triangular Bolon flooring that comes in seven different designs and colours. Arcam’s new office space is an impressive workplace where every little detail comes back to the essence of Arcam’s product.
