Bolon at 44 SPAZIO - a fusion of innovation and design

44 Spazio, curated by George Sowden, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century and a member of the historic Memphis group, is known as a creative multifunctional space for art and design in Milan. From April 7th to 11th, doors will open to showcase groundbreaking novelties by Sowden, SCP, and Abet Laminati. We are proud to seamlessly complement the exhibition’s vibrant, geometric, and playful aesthetic with some of our most impressive and bestselling collections: Artisan, Now and BKB.

Sowden - from an experimental design studio to a visionary brand

Their journey began as a design studio rooted in creativity, research, and experimentation. In 2010, this idea gave birth to the brand Sowden, which specialises in lifestyle objects, accessories, and furniture - with a strong focus on lighting. Collaborations with brands like SCP, ZZZ, HAY, Uniqlo, and raawii reflect their unique design vision. During Milan Design Week, Sowden will unveil their new dual functionality lamps, which are usable via USB power or as portable, battery-powered lights. While exploring new technologies and lighting by Sowden you will walk on Artisan Love from Bolon.

SCP - manufacturer and retailer of contemporary design products

For 40 years, the renowned British design brand SCP has focused on developing sustainable upholstery designs. This year, they will showcase new upholstery and furniture pieces from the Boxed Collection and the SCP 2025 Collection, as well as existing designs from the permanent collection. All upholstery is made exclusively from sustainable and natural materials. Among the highlights will be pieces by George Sowden, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Jasper Morrison, Donna Wilson and many more. When learning about sustainable upholstery, you will walk on Sisal Plain Sand and Sisal Plain Beige from the Bolon BKB collection.

Abet Laminati - pioneer of extraordinary material for architecture

Italian laminate specialist Abet Laminati, established in 1946, pioneered decorative surfaces. Over time, the company has partnered with leading international designers to create materials that reflect the shifts and revolutions of contemporary style. The collaboration with Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass or Superstudio has had a lasting influence on architecture. At 44 Spazio, they will unveil the new design collection, Hachure, by Pierre Charpin. The latest patterns present a remarkable synthesis of two worlds: the line contrasted by colour fills. While discovering new graphical laminates, you will step on Now Silver flooring from Bolon.
